👀 MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
Superintendent Given ‘Blank Check’ for Pre-K Partners
📅 2026-08-04
The board is being asked to give the Superintendent pre-authorization to sign contracts with multiple outside Pre-K providers without a separate public vote for each one. This reduces transparency and means parents won’t know who is teaching their youngest children or what curriculum is being used until after the deal is done.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Driscoll ISD Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Regarding Item 6, I demand that all Prekindergarten Partnership agreements be brought to the Board for individual public review and a roll-call vote. Parents have a right to know who is teaching their children before contracts are signed.’
