Secret Changes to Student Code of Conduct
| 📅 Vote Scheduled July 27, 2026 |
The board is voting to approve the new Holland ISD Code of Conduct under item 5.C, but the actual document has not been made public on the agenda. This is a classic tactic to pass controversial policies without parental review. Codes of Conduct are where districts embed rules on student pronouns, gender identity, ‘restorative justice’ discipline that keeps disruptive students in the classroom, and vague ‘bullying’ definitions that can be used to punish speech. Approving a secret document is a massive transparency violation.
Recommended Action Plan
PACK THE ROOM: Demand the board table the vote on Item 5.C until the full text of the proposed Code of Conduct is posted publicly for at least 72 hours. Advise members to contact the District Office and board members: ‘Parents have a right to review the Code of Conduct before you vote on it. Post the document online and table the vote on Item 5.C.’
