NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
New School Counseling Policies Kept From Public View
📅 October 29, 2026
The Board is scheduled to vote on new ‘School Counseling Policies & Procedures’ without publishing the text of the policy for parents to review. This is a common way districts introduce controversial rules on topics like mental health screenings, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), or gender identity without parental knowledge.
Recommended Action Plan

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the Board postpone the vote on Item III.A, ‘School Counseling Policies & Procedures,’ until the full text of the proposed policy is made public. Parents have a right to review any policy that affects their children’s mental and emotional well-being before it is approved.
