Final Vote on ‘Students/Parents’ Rights’ Policy Hidden in Consent Agenda
The Board is scheduled for a final vote to approve revisions to Policy 331, titled ‘Students/Parents’ Rights Related to District Programs,’ by burying it in the consent agenda. The text of these critical changes has not been made public in the agenda, hiding what rights may be gained or, more likely, lost.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: This is a final vote. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) immediately and demand ‘Item VI.F, Policy 331, be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a full public reading and discussion. We will not allow a vote on parental rights to happen in the dark.’

New Rules Allow Board to Ban Parents from Speaking
The Board is operating under public comment rules that give the Board President the power to ‘suspend an individual from speaking at future Board meetings’ for up to six months or more. These rules also cap total public input at 45-75 minutes per meeting, effectively silencing parents when many wish to speak.
Recommended Action Plan
These rules are being enforced now. Sign up for public comment under Item V to demand the Board rescind these chilling restrictions on public speech. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and tell them: ‘Parents will not be silenced. The Board works for us, and we demand the right to be heard without fear of being banned.’

First Look at New Policy on ‘Public Participation’
The Board is introducing a large bundle of new and revised governance policies, including a new ‘Policy 187 Public Participation at Board Meetings.’ Given the already restrictive public comment rules, this new policy could be used to further limit parents’ ability to hold the board accountable.
Recommended Action Plan
INVESTIGATE: This is a First Reading, our first chance to see the text. Open the file for Item VII.B in the Official Agenda (linked above) to see if Policy 187 adds more restrictions on parents’ right to speak. Be prepared to challenge it at the next meeting.
π° Impact: Reduced Board Oversight

Vague ‘School Improvement Plans’ on the Agenda
The administration is presenting ‘School Improvement Plans’ for three schools without providing the documents in the agenda. These plans often serve as vehicles to introduce ideological programs like SEL, DEI, or ‘restorative practices’ under the guise of academic improvement.
Recommended Action Plan
INVESTIGATE: Open the presentation file for Item VII.A in the Official Agenda (linked above). Search the document for keywords like ‘SEL,’ ‘equity,’ ‘climate,’ ‘culture,’ and ‘restorative’ to see what’s hidden inside these plans.
π° Impact: Hidden SEL/DEI Initiatives
