HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
School Board Election Canceled, Members Appointed Without a Vote
📅 October 27, 2026
Under Resolution #2645, the board is canceling the November 3rd school board election and directly appointing three candidates to four-year terms. This is happening because no one ran against them, which means parents will have no say in who represents them for the next four years.
Recommended Action Plan

This is a critical failure of democracy. Attend the meeting and use the Public Comment time for Item 3.1 to put the board on notice. State clearly: ‘Appointing board members instead of electing them, while legal, silences the voice of parents. We will be watching, and we will hold you accountable for the next four years.’ This is a wake-up call to recruit and run candidates for every open seat in the future.
