Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for Ellicott School District No. 22 in the county of El Paso a. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Vague ‘Amended AC Policy’ Vote
📅 October 29, 2026
The board is voting to approve an ‘Amended AC Policy,’ but the agenda does not include the text of the policy or even describe what ‘AC’ stands for. This prevents parents from reviewing a policy change that could impact non-discrimination rules, curriculum, or student rights before it is passed.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the full text of the ‘Amended AC Policy’ (Item 7) be posted publicly. The board must not vote on secret policies that affect our children.

💰 Impact: Unknown Policy Changes
NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Undisclosed ‘Consent Items’ Bundle
📅 October 29, 2026
The board plans to vote on a bundle of ‘Consent Items’ without listing what is in the bundle. This practice can be used to pass controversial contracts or policies without public discussion or a separate vote.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand that the board publicly list every item included in ‘Consent Items’ (Item 5) at least 24 hours before the vote. Bundling undisclosed items for a single vote is a tactic to avoid accountability.

💰 Impact: Hiding Controversial Votes
