Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Worthington City. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
School District to Teach Parents How to Parent
📅 July 27, 2026
Hidden inside the consent agenda (Item G.9), the district is using federal Title IV funds to pay staff to implement the ‘Positive Parenting Program (Triple P).’ This program inserts the school district into your home, teaching you the ‘correct’ way to raise your children according to a government-approved curriculum. This is a major overreach that positions school employees as the experts on your family life, paid for with your tax dollars.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email Superintendent Trent Bowers at tbowers@wscloud.org: ‘I demand Item G.9 be pulled from the Consent Agenda for a separate discussion and vote. Why is the district using federal funds to teach parents how to parent? Parents do not need the government’s ‘Positive Parenting Program’ to raise their own children.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: $10,584 (Federal Title IV Strings-Attached Money)
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
District Making It Harder for Parents to Choose Private Schools
📅 July 27, 2026
Under Item H.2, the board is voting on a resolution to declare busing ‘impractical’ for students attending over 25 local private and charter schools. This is a procedural move that makes it more difficult and expensive for parents to exercise school choice, effectively penalizing families who choose alternatives to the public school system and making it harder for them to leave.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND ANSWERS: Call Board President Nicolette Hudson at (614) 450-6000: ‘Regarding Item H.2, why is the district making it harder for parents to access school choice? We demand a full explanation of why busing to these schools is suddenly ‘impractical’ and what solutions you will offer parents.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Shifts transportation costs to parents who exercise school choice.
