Secret Changes to Bond Oversight Rules
📅 November 2, 2026
The Bond Oversight Committee is set to discuss ‘Proposed bylaws revisions’ without publishing the text of the changes for public review. This prevents taxpayers from knowing if the committee is attempting to weaken its own oversight powers, reduce public input, or change how it holds the district accountable for spending bond money.
Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Longview ISD administration (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘Please immediately publish the ‘Proposed bylaws revisions’ for the Bond Oversight Committee. The public has a right to review any changes to accountability rules before they are discussed.’
