Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Monroe Local. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 9)
Approving Secret Student Handbooks
📅 July 27, 2026
Under Item 5.8, the Board is scheduled to approve the 2026-2027 student handbooks via a bundled ‘Consent Agenda’ vote. However, the actual handbook documents have not been attached to the public agenda. This prevents parents from reviewing critical new policies on discipline, technology use, dress code, and student gender identity before they are locked in for the school year. This is a major transparency violation.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: This is a non-negotiable transparency failure. Call Board President Tim Carpenter at (513) 539-2536 and email Superintendent John Buskirk: ‘I demand Item 5.8 be pulled from the consent agenda and tabled until the full text of all student handbooks are posted publicly for parental review. We will not accept secret policies governing our children.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Undisclosed policy changes affecting every student.
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Trojan Horse Teacher Training Contract
📅 July 27, 2026
The Board is voting on Item 7.3, a $31,080 contract with the Hamilton County ESC for ‘Instructional Coaching and Professional Learning.’ The contract is intentionally vague and does not specify the content of the training. This is a common backdoor used to introduce controversial ideologies like Social Emotional Learning (SEL), ‘equity’ frameworks, or experimental teaching methods by training the teachers, who then bring it into the classroom.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email Treasurer Amy Moore at amoore@monroelocalschools.com and Superintendent John Buskirk: ‘Regarding Item 7.3, I demand to see the full curriculum and all training materials that will be used by the Hamilton County ESC for the $31,080 Instructional Coaching contract. What specific pedagogical frameworks will be taught to our teachers? Parents have a right to know before you approve this.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: $31,080 (Grant-Funded)
