The board is scheduled to approve purchasing property and casualty insurance from the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). TASB is a registered lobby group that often works against property tax relief, parental rights, and educational freedom at the Texas Legislature. A portion of the district’s insurance payment to TASB will be used to fund these political lobbying activities, using local tax dollars to work against taxpayer interests.

Why is the district sending our tax dollars to a political lobby group instead of seeking the best insurance value on the open market? Taxpayers deserve a recorded vote on this item.’
