Potential Taxpayer-Funded Lobbyist Training for School Board
📅 October 19, 2026
The board is holding a ‘Team of 8 Training,’ a session often conducted by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). TASB is a taxpayer-funded lobbying group that frequently opposes property tax relief and parental rights at the state capitol. This training could be using tax dollars to align the board with a political agenda that harms local families.
Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Who is conducting the ‘Team of 8 Training’ for Item IV, and can the public review the training materials beforehand? Taxpayers should not be funding political indoctrination for our elected officials.’

💰 Impact: Undisclosed Lobbying Influence
WATCH (LEVEL 4)
Public Comment Window Restricts Taxpayer Access
📅 October 19, 2026
The district only allows the public to sign up for comment during a tight 30-minute window immediately before the 5:00 PM meeting. This practice makes it difficult for working parents and taxpayers to participate and hold the board accountable.
Response

DEMAND BETTER ACCESS: Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘The 30-minute sign-up window for public comment right before the meeting is a barrier to public participation. Please allow for online or earlier sign-ups to respect taxpayers’ time.’

💰 Impact: Reduced Public Access
