Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Xenia Community City. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 10)
Embedding Gender Ideology and SEL into School Discipline
📅 July 13, 2026
The board is attempting to pass a new 32-page “Student Code of Conduct” by hiding it in a bundled “consent agenda” vote (Item 3.L). This document forces staff to “accept and support” a student’s chosen gender identity and expression, and redefines harassment to include issues like “misgendering.” It also replaces traditional discipline with “Restorative Practices” and “Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS),” which are frameworks for implementing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and behavioral interventions without direct parental oversight. This policy opens the door for social transitioning at school without parental knowledge or consent.
Recommended Action Plan

PACK THE ROOM: This is a critical policy change hidden in the consent agenda. Sign up for public comment. Email Superintendent Gabriel Lofton at glofton@xeniaschools.org and call Board President Mary Grech at (937) 376-2961. Demand that Item 3.L, the Student Code of Conduct, be pulled for a full, separate discussion and a roll-call vote. Tell them: ‘Parents, not the school, are the primary authority on our children’s values and identity. Vote NO on this ideological Code of Conduct.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Loss of Parental Authority
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Limiting Parent Voices at Board Meetings
📅 July 13, 2026
The board’s public participation policy, outlined in item 2.A, limits the entire public comment period to just 30 minutes. While the board can vote to extend it, this structure gives them an easy way to shut down parent feedback on controversial topics by simply running out the clock. This is a tactic to manage and minimize dissent from parents who are concerned about what’s happening in their schools.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TO BE HEARD: Call Board President Mary Grech at (937) 376-2961. State: ‘The 30-minute time limit on public comment is an unacceptable restriction on parental rights. We demand that the board commit to hearing every parent who signs up to speak on Item 3.L, regardless of this arbitrary time limit.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Parental Oversight
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 4)
Vague Middle School Trip to Washington D.C.
📅 July 13, 2026
The board is approving an overnight, out-of-state trip for 8th graders to Washington D.C. (Item 3.J). While the agenda lists a PDF attachment with details, the title is vague and provides no information about the itinerary, chaperones, or educational goals. Trips to D.C. can sometimes include visits to highly political or ideological organizations. Parents need to know exactly where their children are going and what they will be taught.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Review the file ‘WMS 8 Grade Washington DC Trip May 11-14-2027.pdf’ attached to Item 3.J in the Official Agenda linked above. Email Superintendent Gabriel Lofton at glofton@xeniaschools.org and ask for a detailed itinerary, a list of all planned stops and speakers, and the curriculum associated with this trip before it is approved.
