Undisclosed Budget Changes on Consent Agenda
📅 October 19, 2026
The board plans to approve unspecified ‘Budget Amendments’ as part of a bundled consent agenda vote, bypassing individual discussion. This common tactic can be used to reallocate taxpayer funds without public scrutiny or a detailed explanation of the changes.
Response

DEMAND A RECORDED VOTE: Contact the Bellville ISD Board (see district website for contact info). ‘Please pull Item 7.C from the Consent Agenda for a separate discussion and a roll-call vote. Taxpayers deserve to know the details of any budget amendments before they are approved.’

💰 Impact: Undisclosed Financial Changes

Potential for Un-Debated Votes After Secret Session
📅 October 19, 2026
The agenda allows the board to take immediate action on items discussed in a closed-door executive session, without public deliberation. This could include major financial decisions like land purchases or legal settlements, which would be approved without any public input or debate.
Response

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Bellville ISD Board (see district website for contact info). ‘Regarding Item 10.A, I urge the board to table any action items emerging from executive session until the next public meeting to allow for public review and comment, especially concerning any large expenditure of taxpayer funds.’
