Superintendent Gets a Backdoor Pay Raise

Under the vague title ‘First Addendum to the Superintendent’s Employment Agreement,’ the board is giving Superintendent Scot Prebles a significant pay and benefits increase. They are changing the math on his vacation payouts to make each day worth substantially more (dividing his salary by 214 days instead of 260) and increasing his annual annuity contribution from 5.5% to 8.0%. This is a ‘First Reading,’ meaning they are introducing it now, hoping parents aren’t paying attention over the summer.

Ask: ‘Why is the Superintendent’s pay raise a priority right now, and why is it structured in a way that isn’t transparent to taxpayers?’
