Under Consent Agenda Item H.10, the Board is scheduled to approve a service agreement with Valley of The Sun United Way (VSUW) to create a ‘Community Literacy Hub’. The contract requires the district to provide ‘wraparound services’ including ‘mental health’ support and collect extensive student and family data, but does not specify that explicit, opt-in parental consent is required for these services or data collection.
Intake Action

PRE-VOTE ACTION: Item H.10 approves a contract with Valley of the Sun United Way. Send a pre-adoption legal notice to the Board urging the inclusion of explicit parental opt-in consent requirements for any ‘wraparound services,’ particularly mental health support, and for the collection of student and family data, before the vote. Preserve the agenda and the full contract text from Attachment 10.
