Heads up, Texas taxpayers: we’ve reviewed the upcoming BROCK ISD agenda and found 2 items that deserve your attention before the gavel falls.
WATCH (LEVEL 3)
School Health Committee Proposes ‘Empathy’ Program
📅 October 12, 2026
The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) report in Item I.3 discusses a grant application for the ‘Rachel’s Challenge’ assembly program, which focuses on ‘kindness and empathy.’ While the intent may be positive, programs with social-emotional themes can sometimes stray from core academics and introduce controversial concepts without full parental transparency.
Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Brock ISD Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Regarding the SHAC report (Item I.3), please ensure the ‘Rachel’s Challenge’ curriculum is fully transparent and available for parental review before any implementation. The focus must remain on academic excellence.’

Good moves worth showing up to support so they stick.
Major Win (LEVEL 9)
District Secures Financial Stability, Protects Taxpayers
📅 October 12, 2026
The Board is voting on a resolution to formalize its successful recovery of the district’s savings account (fund balance). After a sharp decline, the district added over $4.7 million back to its reserves in two years, creating a strong financial safety net that protects taxpayers from future emergency tax hikes.
How to Lock It In

Show up to thank the Board for its excellent financial stewardship. Contact the Brock ISD Board (see the Official Agenda link for details): ‘Thank you for prioritizing fiscal responsibility and adopting the Fund Balance Sustainability Plan in Item J.3. This protects taxpayers and ensures our district’s long-term health.’
