Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for Saydel Comm School District. We found 1 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.

HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)

Dozens of Policy Changes Proposed Without Public Text

📅 October 6, 2026

The board is considering a massive overhaul of district policy, recommending updates to dozens of policies, creating five new ones, and deleting two others based on a ‘Policy Primer’ from the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). The agenda provides no text or summary of what these changes actually do, preventing any meaningful parental review before a potential vote.

Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: The board is fast-tracking dozens of policy changes without showing parents the text. Contact the Saydel School Board (see district website for contact info): ‘Regarding Agenda Items II and III, the IASB Policy Primer Review, I demand that the full redlined text of all proposed policy changes be made public immediately. These items must be un-bundled and voted on individually to allow for proper public review and comment.’

💰 Impact: Loss of Parental Oversight
