School Board Training by Potential Lobbying Group

📅 October 10, 2026

The board is receiving its annual ‘TEAM of 8’ governance training. This training model is a hallmark of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), an organization that lobbies the state legislature against taxpayer interests like property tax relief and parental rights. This training can instill a ‘go along to get along’ culture that reduces individual board member accountability to the voters who elected them.

Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Waelder ISD administration (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). ‘Regarding Item 3, the TEAM of 8 Training, was the curriculum for this training developed by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB)? Please provide the public with a copy of all training materials.’
