NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
District to Discuss ‘Edgenuity’ Online Curriculum
📅 October 8, 2026
The board is set to discuss Edgenuity, a major provider of online courses and credit recovery software. This often means replacing direct teacher instruction with more screen time, without independent proof that it improves academic outcomes for students.
Recommended Action Plan

Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask Board Member Ben Daugherty: ‘Regarding Item IV.A.1, before any vote on Edgenuity, please provide the public with independent, non-vendor-funded studies proving its effectiveness. How many hours of daily screen time will this add, and what direct teacher instruction will it replace?’

💰 Impact: Increased Student Screen Time
