The board is voting to officially recognize October as ‘LGBTQ+ History Month’ under item COM2. This proclamation encourages schools to focus on the contributions and history of LGBTQ+ individuals, opening the door for sensitive topics on sexuality and gender identity to be introduced in the classroom without a clear process for parental review.

Email Superintendent Michael J. Burke at superintendent@palmbeachschools.org: ‘Regarding Item COM2, schools should focus on core academics, not ideological celebrations. Parents, not the district, should be the primary guides for their children on sensitive topics of sexuality and gender identity. Vote NO on this proclamation.’
