The Board is holding a closed-door ‘Attorney/Client Session’ to discuss a federal lawsuit, ‘Sherry Gibson v. Palm Beach County School Board.’ The agenda provides no details about the nature of the lawsuit or what policies are being challenged. Parents have a right to know what the district is being sued for and how their tax dollars are being spent to defend it.

DEMAND ANSWERS: The Board can legally discuss litigation strategy in private, but parents deserve to know the basics of the case. Contact the School Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info) and ask: ‘Regarding the closed session for Sherry Gibson v. SBPBC on Oct 7, what is the subject of this federal lawsuit? The public deserves transparency on how our tax dollars are being used and what district policies are under legal challenge.’
