HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Teachers’ Union Contract Vote Without Public Review
πŸ“… October 1, 2026
The board is voting to approve a new three-year contract with the teachers’ union. These contracts can contain hidden policies on everything from student discipline and pronoun usage to curriculum, locking them in for years without a separate public vote.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE & DELAY: The full text of the proposed union contract has not been made public for review. Contact the Board of Education (see the Official Agenda link for contact details) and demand they postpone the vote on Item 4.A, the FPEA contract, until the full text of the agreement has been posted publicly for at least 72 hours. ‘Parents have a right to review any policy that will be locked in for the next three years.’
