New Charter School Vote — Is It a Win or a Trojan Horse?
📅 October 2, 2026
The Board is voting to approve a new charter school, ‘Choices in Learning Middle School.’ While new school choices can be a win for parents, the entire application and evaluation are only available as a file attachment, not in the main agenda. We need to know what this school will teach and what its policies are on parental rights before the Board gives it a green light.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: The agenda for the Oct. 2 meeting references the ‘Choices in Learning Middle School’ application but doesn’t include its text. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘Please post the full application for the Choices in Learning charter school online immediately. Parents deserve to review the curriculum and policies before you vote to approve a new school.’
