The board will vote to send a delegate to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Delegate Assembly. This assembly sets the lobbying priorities for TASB, an organization that frequently lobbies the Texas Legislature for higher taxes and against parental rights and educational freedom, using local taxpayer dollars to do so.

Email the Southwest ISD Board of Trustees (see district website for contacts): ‘Regarding Item IV, I urge you to vote NO on sending a delegate to the TASB assembly. Our district should not use taxpayer funds to participate in an organization that lobbies against the interests of parents and taxpayers.’
