Local Action Alert

📅 Monday, October 5, 2026 to Calendar

Heads up! We have scanned the upcoming agenda for KLEIN ISD. We found 3 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.

MONITOR (LEVEL 5)

Morning Deadline Restricts Public Comment

📅 October 5, 2026

The district requires parents to sign up for public comment by 10:30 am on the day of the meeting. This rule can prevent busy parents who learn about a critical issue during the day from speaking to the board that evening, effectively silencing same-day concerns.

Recommended Action Plan

Contact the Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘We request that the 10:30 am sign-up deadline for public comment be extended to the start of the meeting to ensure all parents have a voice.’

💰 Impact: Your Right to Speak

MONITOR (LEVEL 5)

District to Report on Vague ‘Family Satisfaction’ Survey

📅 October 5, 2026

Under the strategic priority ‘Build Community,’ the administration will present results from a ‘Family Satisfaction’ survey. The agenda provides no details on the survey’s questions, leaving parents to wonder if this was a simple customer service check-in or a data-mining survey collecting sensitive information on family beliefs and home environments.

Recommended Action Plan

Contact the Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘Regarding the Family Satisfaction Report, please make the full survey questionnaire public immediately. Parents have a right to know what data is being collected on their families.’

District High Schools Honored for Supporting Military Families

📅 October 5, 2026

All five Klein ISD high schools have earned the Texas Education Agency’s Purple Star Campus Designation. This award recognizes the district’s exceptional and intentional work to support military-connected students and their families, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.

How to Lock It In

Show up to thank the Board for fostering a patriotic, welcoming environment for our military families. This is a model for other districts and a win worth celebrating publicly to encourage more of it.
