The district is presenting its comprehensive plan for all TK-8 expanded learning (after-school) programs, funded by state and federal grants. The attached plan explicitly embeds ‘Social-Emotional Learning’ (SEL) based on the five CASEL competencies, along with ‘restorative practices’ and a focus on student ‘identities.’

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: This is an ‘Information’ item, meaning no vote is scheduled, but it’s how they introduce new programs. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and email the Board: ‘Regarding Item E.4, the ASES/ELOP Program Plan, what specific curriculum will be used to teach Social-Emotional Learning? Parents have a right to review all SEL materials before they are used with our children.’
