District Appoints Delegate to Lobbying Group TASB

📅 October 6, 2026

Minutes from the September 15 meeting, attached to this agenda, show the board voted to send a delegate to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) convention. TASB is a taxpayer-funded organization that lobbies the Texas Legislature, often against the interests of taxpayers and parents on issues like property taxes and school choice.

Response

Use the Public Comments period at the October 6 meeting to ask why the district funds and participates in TASB, a lobby group that works against taxpayer interests. Demand the Board disclose the total annual cost of TASB membership, dues, and convention travel.
