⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 7)
Board to Appoint Trustee, Bypassing Voters
📅 September 28, 2026
The Board will interview candidates in a closed session and then appoint a new trustee to fill the Place 4 vacancy. While state law permits this, it denies voters the opportunity to choose their own representative in a special election, allowing the current board to hand-pick a new member.
Response

DEMAND A SPECIAL ELECTION: Contact the SCUC ISD Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info). Urge them to reject an appointment for Item VII.A and instead call a special election to fill the Place 4 vacancy, letting the voters decide who represents them.

💰 Impact: Voter Disenfranchisement
