ALERT (LEVEL 4)
Vague Federal Grant Requires Scrutiny
📅 Scheduled Action
The Safety and Security Committee is discussing a federal “COPS” Safety Grant. While these grants are typically for physical security, any federal funding can come with hidden strings attached, such as data-sharing requirements or other mandates that bypass local control.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Contact the Crosby ISD School Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘Regarding Item III, the COPS Safety Grant, please provide the public with the full grant application and terms. Parents have a right to know what strings are attached to any federal money accepted by our district before it is approved.’
