⚠️ Warning (LEVEL 7)
Tax Rate Vote Lacks Key Information
📅 Vote Scheduled August 27, 2026
Arp ISD is holding a public hearing and vote on its proposed 2026-2027 property tax rate of $1.0853. However, the public agenda fails to include the two most important numbers for taxpayers: the ‘no-new-revenue rate’ (the rate that would raise the same amount of money as last year) and the ‘voter-approval rate’ (the rate above which triggers an automatic election). Without this state-required context, it is impossible for taxpayers to know if this proposal is a tax increase that will raise their family’s tax bill.
Response

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Attend the public hearing on August 27th. During Open Forum, ask the board to state the ‘no-new-revenue rate’ and the ‘voter-approval rate’ on the record before they vote. Taxpayers have a right to know if their taxes are going up before a final decision is made.

💰 Impact: Potential Tax Increase (Undisclosed)
