However, the agenda packet fails to include the most critical information: the actual proposed tax rate and how it compares to the ‘no-new-revenue’ rate. This prevents taxpayers from preparing informed comments and allows the district to control the narrative by releasing the numbers for the first time during the live meeting.

DEMAND THE DETAILS: Contact the Southwest ISD administration before the August 27th hearing. Ask them to immediately publish the full proposed budget and the official tax rate calculation worksheet. Taxpayers deserve to see the numbers before being asked for public comment.
