The Board is holding a 7-hour “retreat” and “work session” combined with an “Executive Session.” This format can be used to have substantive policy discussions and make strategic decisions away from public view, limiting transparency and parental oversight.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: New York’s Open Meetings Law limits what can be discussed in Executive Session. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and ask: ‘What specific topics will be discussed during the August 22nd Board Retreat, and what is the legal justification for holding a 7-hour work session in Executive Session? We demand a public report of all non-exempt topics discussed.’
