Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for Region 8 Education Service Center. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Automatic Approval of Unlisted Vendor Contracts
📅 2026-08-27
The Board is set to automatically ratify an entire list of new vendor contracts without public discussion or a specific vote on each. This process hides which companies are being given access to schools and taxpayer money, potentially including ideological consultants or curriculum providers.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Region 8 ESC Board (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘Item 5.I must be pulled for public discussion. Parents have a right to know which vendors are being approved to do business with our schools. We demand a roll-call vote on each new vendor, not a rubber-stamp approval.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Undisclosed Vendor Contracts
ALERT (LEVEL 4)
Vague Investment Policy — Manual Review Required
📅 2026-08-27
The board is approving a new investment strategy, but the policy documents are not included in the agenda text. These policies could include ideologically-driven ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, using public funds to advance a political agenda instead of focusing on financial returns.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: Open the files attached to Item 5.C in the Official Agenda (linked above) to confirm whether the investment strategy includes ESG criteria. Contact the Region 8 ESC Board to demand that public funds are invested for maximum return, not to advance a political agenda.
