Heads up! Our parent watchdogs have scanned the upcoming agenda for DOSS CONSOLIDATED CSD. We found 2 items that need your immediate attention before the vote.
⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Final Budget Vote With No Document Attached
📅 2026-08-26
The board is scheduled to vote on and approve the entire 2026-2027 district budget under item V.D, but the budget document itself is not included in the agenda attachments. This prevents parents from reviewing planned spending on curriculum, staff, and vendors before the final vote.
Recommended Action Plan

INVESTIGATE: The full budget document for the 2026-2027 school year is not attached to the agenda for item V.D. Contact the District Office (see the Official Agenda link) and demand the full budget be posted online for public review at least 72 hours before the board votes to approve it. ‘Parents have a right to see how our tax dollars will be spent before you cast a final vote.’

💰 Taxpayer Impact: Undisclosed Spending
ALERT (LEVEL 4)
New Committee Could Reduce Full Board Oversight
📅 2026-08-26
The board is creating a new two-member committee to handle major decisions about district facilities and property. While this can be for efficiency, small committees can also reduce public transparency and limit debate that would otherwise happen before the full board.
Recommended Action Plan

Monitor: Email the District Office (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Regarding Item V.F, please confirm that all meetings of the new Facilities and Property Committee will be subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act, with agendas posted publicly in advance and minutes made available to the public.’
