Major Win (LEVEL 8)
District Adopts Pro-Parent, Pro-Local Control Legislative Platform
📅 August 25, 2026
The Board is discussing its legislative priorities for the next state session. The proposed platform pushes back against state overreach by demanding an end to unfunded mandates, limiting the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) power, and returning authority over curriculum and operations to our locally elected board.
How to Lock It In

PACK THE ROOM TO SUPPORT THIS: Show up to thank the Board for fighting for local control. Email the Board (contact info on the district website): ‘Thank you for prioritizing local control and pushing back against state overreach in your 2026 Legislative Priorities. Please approve these priorities and fight for them in Austin.’
