Race-Based ‘Affinity Group’ Hidden on Consent Agenda
The board is approving a ‘Black Student Union’ at the middle school, a form of ‘Affinity Group’ that separates students by race. While potentially well-intentioned, these groups often become vehicles for divisive political activism and ‘anti-racism’ ideology, and this item is being passed without discussion on the consent calendar.
Recommended Action Plan
DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Email the Board (see the Official Agenda link): ‘Pull Item 6.F from the Consent Agenda for a full discussion. Parents deserve to see the club’s charter and understand what will be taught before approving a group that segregates students by race.’
