🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Final Vote on FY27 Budget with No Public Details
📅 August 17, 2026
The board is scheduled for a final vote to adopt the entire FY27 budget and set tax rates, but no details of the budget have been provided in the agenda. This is how funding for ideological programs or controversial consultants gets approved without parental oversight.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND TRANSPARENCY: Contact the Gainesville City Board of Education (see district website for contacts) and demand the full FY27 budget be made public with line-item details for parental review before any final vote on Item VI.a.iii. ‘We will not approve a blank check for the district.’

⚠️ NEEDS REVIEW (LEVEL 7)
Proposed Changes to School Attendance Zones
📅 August 17, 2026
The district is discussing changing attendance zones for the 2027-2028 school year, specifically impacting New Holland Leadership Academy, Fair Street International Academy, and Gainesville Exploration Academy. This could mean your child is forced to change schools without your input.
Recommended Action Plan

ATTEND & SPEAK UP: The district is considering changing school attendance zones. If your child attends New Holland, Fair Street, or Gainesville Exploration, you need to be at the August 31st SGC training meeting to make your voice heard before this plan moves forward. Contact the District Office to confirm meeting details and demand a transparent process with parental input.
