👀 MONITOR (LEVEL 5)
‘Good Governance’ Training Could Weaken Board Oversight
📅 2026-08-19
The board is holding a workshop with an external consultant, Dr. Greg Gibson, on ‘Leveraging High Levels of Team Trust.’ This type of training can be used to pressure board members into groupthink, discouraging them from asking tough questions or challenging the administration’s agenda on behalf of parents.
Recommended Action Plan

PUT ON NOTICE: Contact the Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact info): ‘Parents expect board members to be independent representatives of the community, not a rubber stamp for the administration. We will be watching to see how this ‘Good Governance’ training affects your willingness to challenge policies that harm our children.’
