🚨 HIGH CONCERN (LEVEL 8)
Board to Appoint New Trustee, Bypassing Voters
📅 August 17, 2026
A board member has resigned, and the remaining members will meet in a closed session to discuss and then appoint her replacement. This process bypasses a special election, allowing the current board to hand-pick a new member without any input from parents or taxpayers.
Recommended Action Plan

DEMAND A VOICE: The board plans to appoint a new trustee without a public vote. Contact the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees (see the Official Agenda link for contact details) and attend the meeting to speak at Public Comment: ‘We demand a special election to fill the vacant trustee seat. Do not appoint an unelected official to represent the parents and taxpayers of this district.’
